Sports and world competition, our motto " A sound mind is in a sound body" is true now as it was true during the ages of ancient Greece and Rome- we all realized that the importance role sport plays in promoting understanding among nations. When the people of the world compete, they come to mix together whether in football, tennis ball, basketball or and kinds of sports, as we see nowadays, there is the World Cup in handball game held in Egypt. In fact it is a good chance for introduction and understand the customs and traditions of each other, realize what people like or dislike and above all endeavor to beat each other in sports and not in wars. For instance, we hear of competition is being held in Egypt in handball game which all the teams of the world are invited to take part in this competition. We also hear of another football competition for young people held in Egypt when all the teams come to compete and try to beat the other , but not in war. Sport competitions are a good chance to promote tourism. When sportsmen go to a country, they usually visit its places of interest and its most famous places. They take souvenirs, which remind them of such places and let them talk about that country objectively. Sports and games ply an important role in building up our bodies and characters. They are also an effective means of acquiring many virtues such as co-operation, self-sacrifice and discipline. Through games and sports young people find an outlet to their energies and they can be protected from deviation. Being aware of these facts. The government spares no effort to encourage sports. Sports make us fit, Although most people a acknowledge the importance of physical fitness, They don't put it into practice. Most of us spend too much time watching others from the comfort of an armchair or a seat. What is needed is a solution (at the recreational competition level) that would encourage ALL styles to flourish. This means that instead of the conventional method of using just one class of competition where all styles compete against each other, it is probably beneficial to divide the sport into several groups , similar to tennis where it is done based on the surface played ( clay , grass, har-tru etc) . Based on the problems with equipment definitions it would make sense to divide the sport into three classes of competition as defined below. 1. Classical :- Hard Rubber only This style may be very beneficial in attracting players from basements as well as those over the age of say 50 or 60 . 2. Tactical :- Any rubber type. Sponge thickness 1.5 mm any surface This group consists of any racket but thickness limited to 1.5 mm. Any type rubber / combinations permitted but thickness limited to 1.5 mm This group is sort of a bridge between the classical style & Same Type Rubber style. 3. Same Type Rubber :- Same "type" rubber both sides. Inverted or short pips only. No long pips. No medium pips. No anti. Min 1.5 mm Max 2.5 mm It is pure non-sense to expect a player to have exact same "brand" rubber both sides with same thickness as well (This also becomes discriminatory against shakehand players since it will give the penholder an unfair advantage). it is reasonable to let a player use say Mark V one side & Sriver on the other but you must have either inverted both sides or short pips both side ( cannot have short pips one side & inverted on the other ). The minimum is set at 1.5 mm so that a player will not use an ultra-thin sponge rubber one side & thick rubber on the other side. Combined with maximum differential of 1 mm this reduces the possibility of drastically different racket sides. And no, you cannot have inverted one side & short-pips on the other side. If you want to do this you will have to play in the second group ( tactical ) . I personally don't care , but this group by definition , is only for those who only want to play a Same Type Rubber game. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
